Friends of High Lane Park are presenting an fun filled day on Saturday 29th September at High Lane Park. If you have a loving pooch why not enter them into the competition, the categories vary from cutest puppy to waggliest tail, registration on the day from 12.30pm.
There will be other fun activities for all the family to enjoy including a dog agility course sponsored by Absolute Canine. Artisan food, hot drinks and ice-cream will be available on the day too!
The event gets under way at 10am on Saturday 22nd September and will continue until about 4pm. All the stalls will be located in and around the Market Street area of town.
This is one of the most popular events in the town’s calendar, Marple Food and Drink Festival will have stalls selling foods, drinks, crafts, gift ideas and much more. There will be music from Marple Band as well as a face painting and crafts for the children. Look out for the buskers performing in the afternoon organised by the Music in Hospitals charity.
Last year the festival attracted large crowds from Marple itself and visitors from other nearby towns and villages.
From small beginnings, the festival has grown year on year and is now highly regarded as an excellent opportunity for the town to shout about what its local producers and businesses have to offer.
Etherow Country Park host the annual charity fun day for the Sailing Club! Pop down between 11am and 4:30pm for trips around the lake, hook a duck, wheel of fortune, try your hand at sailing, face painting, model boat display, bbq & refreshments and a Friends of Etherow exhibition.
The Roman Lakes are hosting Facts and Fun to help raise money for Mellor Archaeological Trust and Friends of Our Valley. Head down on the September the 9th between 11am – 5pm for Guided Tours, Fete Stalls, Craft Workshops, Music Tent, Beer Tent and Games. The cost is £3 for Adults and under 16s are free.
We are excited to share that our 3rd Treasure Hunt raised £2,154 and along with all other money raised, the friends of Marple Memorial park are going to buy new equipment in the Infants Play Area, and the award of a £1,000 grant from the Autotrader Community Fund, Friends of the Park are pleased to announce that a new Ocean See-Saw has been ordered and is due to be installed in late September / early October 2018. We are so pleased the Treasure Hunt was a great success!
